Video of two men fighting for right of way on narrow road in Sabah goes viral


KOTA KINABALU: Two motorists, who refused to give each other a way to pass through a narrow lane in Kota Belud town, ended up in a fight that went viral on social media.

Kota Belud OCPD chief Supt Shahrudin Mat Husain said a 42-second viral video that caught the fight between two men using parang and an iron rod was widely shared on Facebook.

"The fight took place at 11.30am on Friday (March 22) in the area behind the parking lot near Jalan Tamu Minggu, here.

"The incident occurred as a result of both men refusing to give way while passing through the narrow road," he said in a statement Saturday (March 23).

According to him, the case was investigated according to Section 160 of the Penal Code for fighting in a public place.

Any member of the public who witnessed the incident should come to the Kota Belud police headquarters to assist in the investigation or they can contact Insp Izhafizan Haron at 014-6318003.

"The police would like to advise the public not to make any speculation related to this case that could interfere with the investigation," he added.
